apprentice program

Are you looking to gain hands on experience growing vegetables, flowers, and all the other interesting aspects of a city farm? From planning & designing, to growing & harvesting this new apprentice program will give you an opportunity to experience first hand what a direct sales farm business requires and offers.

Our Farm apprentices assist in all daily farm operations. Apprentices will learn to use all our farming equipment, irrigation systems, and ‘greenhouse’ & hoophouse systems. Additionally apprentices will participate regularly in field cultivation, harvesting, post-harvest handling, distribution, and record keeping. Finally apprentices will have the opportunity to care for chickens, goats, and honeybees. The majority of work is physical and requires the capability to contribute daily in a rigorous, fast paced agricultural setting. By the end of the growing season in mid-November an apprentice will have a strong foundation to pursue further agricultural training or start their own urban-focused farming business.
